I’ve own a unit for years, suddenly the unit audible signal is not working. I pressed the mute button to activate and deactivate unit w/o success. The infrared light in front of the unit; should it be lit up as well. Am I playing w/a broken unit? When plugged in and I start the engine, the bands go through their initial test, but so far is all is doing. Advice?

      Milton,

I would look in to sending your unit in to get checked out. With out having it here we can’t say for sure it’s working, but it sounds like it’s just audio that you are having an issue with.
Again that is not a definite answer just a judgment based off the information provided. You can call us at 915-587-0307 and talk to a customer service rep they might be able to better diagnose the issue over the phone. Or feel free to send it in to Rocky Mountain Radar @ 6469 Doniphan Dr. El Paso, Tx 79932. I hope this get you pointed in the right direction if you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

I am sure my unit has saved me from a few tickets, but I have also gotten 4 tickets in 2 years (with scramble on) with it so I am puzzled as to how effective it really is. I guess I just have to slow down.
