ODIN Technology

All the great stuff packed into our newest radar and laser detector/scrambler.

How does the scrambler work?

The scrambler does not hide your speed from police radar, it does extend the time that it takes for police radar to display your speed.

Is the unit detectable by police?

No- the ODIN, the Judge, Phantom-T and the C495 are not detectable by VG-2 & VG-3. Caution must be used, however, where detectors are not allowed so they are not visually seen.

Are your products FCC compliant?

Yes, all of our units are compliant and certified.

Does the unit detect 360 degrees?

Yes, although the detection range is greatest in front.

Does the unit scramble 360 degrees?

No, the scrambler is a forward scrambler.

How is the ODIN even legal?

The FCC regulates all consumer products that transmit or leak radio frequency into the air (Part 15 of the FCC code). Since the scrambler and the combination units do not transmit but merely act as a reflective receiver they are legal under the FCC regulations. Regarding the laser scrambler, there are no Federal laws against transmission of infra red light, so the laser – scrambling portion is legal as well.

But isn't the scrambler illegal in some states?

Use of the scrambler is illegal in the following states: Texas, Colorado, Utah, California, Nebraska, Oklahoma,
Minnesota, Illinois, Tennessee, South Carolina and Virginia (where radar detectors are illegal) - that's why we ship the units with the scrambler deactivated (off).

Is the scrambler detectable by law enforcement?

At present we have found no way to detect the use of our scrambler by police other than your speed not displaying immediately on their radar gun.

How do I hardwire my ODIN detector?

The ODIN runs on 5 volts (USB standard) and not the traditional 12 volts supplied by the cigarette lighter. If you plan on hardwiring you ODIN, be sure to supply the correct voltage as a 12 volt supply will 'fry' the electronics inside the unit. Please call or write if you have questions. Please do not splice the included cable and directly wire it to your car as this will irreparably damage the ODIN and void the warranty.
