I’ve been using RMC for almost 20 years now and Only received 2 tickets in over 1,000,000 miles. The first one was because my daughter broke the power cable The second one I was driving through north west Wisconsin about 9:00!pm on St. Patty’s night, nothing but pine trees and open road, so I was doing 20 over. The Ka band chirps, slow down until I get past and down the road a bit and get back up to speed. About a mile or two down the road Ka goes off again, same routine, slow down, get past and speed up. And I do the same routine third time. At this point I’m laughing to myself and thinking I should stop at the next town and by a lottery ticket. But at last the full had to end. The fourth time was laser and I was right on top of him. So I pulled over and we had a nice chat, lol. I purchased 2 Judges , both seem to work well BUT one will clip to the mount and still fix to the mount. The other one never has stayed clip to the mount , I had to improvise to get it to stay mounted.
Both units generate lots of heat , which in my opinion , is not good for the units. I’m working on a way to mount a shade above the units that will keep the sun’s rays off the units.
This is my 3 & 4 unites going back several years , 20+ , I am a Rocky Mountain Radar customer and pleased that their products.

Just a comment about the newly purchased unit that I have. So far everything working great. I have a reduction of false alarms,especially on the signals I would get from the obstacle detection on the newer vehicles. Only down side is the operation of the auto mute. Once the first detection beeps are emitted,it goes completely silent. I have to physically keep looking at unit in order to see the detection status. My other unit would go to a semi muted mode once initial beeps sounded. This would allow me to still hear the status,just at a much lower volume. It’s usually sunny down hear in south Florida so it’s a little more difficult to see the display on the unit when trying to read detection status once auto mute kicks in. Still happy with all other functions and glad to have purchased a product made in the USA by an American company.

So far I have purchased Rocky Mountain radar/laser detectors for about 12 years. No other brand. I have 4 or 5 of the other units and the best I can determine the Judge is about the best . I have had Escorts and Valentines units but to date RMR has been fantastic for me. Got one ticket awhile back but didn’t have the unit turned on. My bad. People ask me why I like RMR. Simple I don’t intentionally run over the speed limit but periodically it happens . I have a phantom in my pickup truck but want to get a judge for it eventually.

Hello I just want to write a short review I have tried this new radar detector the Judge a friend loan it to me I really saw improvement from the previous rockymounatin radar detectors I have own and I really like this one only for me in my opion I wish it had selectable option to turn off bands such as K band in my city cops only use KA band.if you guys do come out with a nother new model please add that option where you can trun off K band and completely and also I would really love if you guys can add arrows to your next radar detector with the scarmbler all in one unit that would be the perfect rockymounatin radar detector and last one I will ever need (:

I would like say something here I just purchase tge judge radar detector and this detector is definitely redesigned.
It’s so amazing how quite it is especially on highway mode. This judge has digital features Iike never before other detectors in the pass rmr ever had.
I tested it out on the hwy and it really does have long range detections.
I was traveling down the hwy and there are 6 traffic lanes in total. My judge detector alerted me of k-band ahead but I didn’t see anything at first up until I saw a police with a captured across the hwy about a half a mile up the road from drivers side of my car. That cop was pretty far up that road and his lights were flashing. I was pretty amazed at the performance here.
The difference in detection from phantom-t vs the judge is that on k band .the false alerts you would normally get with that detector and others as so you don’t get any false alerts with the judge detector. I never had a radar detector like this that was just so quiet. The judge has that filter on the k band mode that radar detectors would normally throw it off on.
I own 2 radar detectors which is the STI magnum which is built for truckers because it’s un detectable to police detection devices and now the judge.
I like luv the judge a whole lot better. Undetectable and scans radar bout the same but so quiet Iike.

Out of all the other detectors I have ever used Rocky Mountain Radar’s technology is far better.
You must always understand when using a scrambler it’s perfect for cars.
When it comes to jamming laser with the scrambler, you must never be any closer up on a laser speed trap then like 300ft to 400ft. The closer you are the easier that cop can lock on to you as you are speeding.
The laser is the about 18in at the 300ft punch through. The further you are away the safer you are.
Cops are trained to hit 3 main places on a vehicle. The headlight, license plate in the front and the bumper itself.
In radar scrambling it’s perfect believe me.
One day in 2012 I was traveling threw Illinois early morning. Laser jamming is illegal in Illinois but I never shut it off because they can hit me still but only up close. But I was traveling at night and 2 Illinois state troopers shot at my Cadillac.
It was more like a quarter of a mile distance but I was able to see something lil sitting there in the middle. I slammed on them brakes running 72mph in a 50mph zone. I was only going that fast cuz I was late getting somewhere important. But that phazer 3 scrambler I was using with a regular detector I once had. Only reason why I bought that sti radar detector I now have because it’s undetectable and digital. But by itself that that thing is worthless. That scrambler saved me a hella speed ticket. That radar detector went off like 3 times on laser. Why you think. Go to phazer 3 . Com.
That is what I use in my car with that other detector. The sti magnum. I use the Judge in my truck. I luv the judge radar detector because It is one whole package all in one.
I trust no other radar detector out there except Rocky Mountain because they not only built a radar detector but it has a shield that no other company builds. What sense does it make using a radar detector without a shield.

No it’s not designed to work on just any radar guns or trailers on the roadways. A scrambler uses the police systems. That is why they can’t test it out properly. ?Hello.

If RMR detectors/scramblers don’t work then they must be the worlds best good luck charms on the market and I wouldn’t trade mine for anything out there! I only came to look at the new model because my older model (from the early 2000’s) technology is getting to where it’s starting to pick up to many of the newer car sensors so I thought it time to upgrade but before purchasing my old model years and years ago I was averaging multiple tickets a year as I drive many miles and since the purchase of my old RMR that has completely stopped and I could not count the times it has saved me. I will say I have seen the negative YouTube videos promoted by the other brands and I am not a tech person so I can’t tell you how it works but before owning the RMR I had two of the so called “best” and all they did was give me a false sense of security and let me know I was getting pulled over, so either the RMR products work extremely well or they are the best good luck charm money can buy and I’m pretty sure my luck would not have lasted for well over ten years! Thank you Rocky Mountain Radar!! I don’t care how it works so long as it works and prevents me from having a ticket!! Also, if you are sceptical you might consider that if you had a device that outperformed all others would you want to explain to competitors how it worked just so they could rip you off on your own products capabilities (I wouldn’t but that’s just me). Plus it’s an American company so that should tell you it’s a superior product to many on the market. Just my 2 cents and only my opinion but I will choose to continue only trusting RMR products because they have not let me down!

Out of town in a another city and running faster than the speed limit, the radar goes off and I have so much on my mind after a meeting and I didn’t brake immediately and the cop was getting close and when it dawned on me I slammed on the brakes and the cop was in the grass on the other side trying to get his radar gun working. The Judge does exactly what it is supposed to do. I own two units. My only reason for not giving it a 5 star is that it gives tons of false alerts usually as a Semi tractor trailer comes near and passes by. There is something that triggers this unit. I have had mine since the pre-order days so possibly they have repaired this defect. It is highly annoying, but on the brighter side, it has never failed to alert me to a radar trap….Rick

14 Months & 4 tickets. Something about doing 70-75 on the back roads to Barstow. Lost my good driving record. That doubled my ins rate: I just happened to be at phantom electronics. New antenna. I see an Audi A-6 being worked on. I ask the tech, Ya he needs a radar unit, I asked how much? about 2 grand. mu son nudges me. Dad, I’ll find you one for a lot less! He did. I called Rocky Mountain Radar. A young lady answered the phone. Told my story, Even the CHP said keep it under 75 & no one will bother you. he gave me a fix it ticket. However I got one at 70 & 71 & not sure about the other 2. No one drives 55 on those roads OK! Told my story & this lady suggested RMDR-80. OK. How much? 5 something, I forget. I said, that’s alot, HER REPLY> It’s cheaper than a ticket. Can’t argue that. So, Debbie did give me a Military Discount. It’s been almost 3 yrs. Ended up buying 7 of them. Now we got the new one for the wife’s Audi (yup, A-6) Not allowed to hard wire it as in my pick up & suburban.Got the JUDGE. It picked up the CHP from the rear coming up fast. shielded the car & he went past. get Good driving back Dec, this year. YAY! It does everything they say. & it didn’t cost a lot. it is cheaper than a ticket. & besides if you do get one Rocky Mountain will pay it. In 3 yrs & 39 trips to AZ, not one ticket. especially on 40, the 215 & the 5. all the way to Colorado Springs, for our 50th reunion of Alpha Co. 2/12th Inf (battle of Soui Tre) then San Angelo TX. reunite with commanding officer. Then home to Thousand Oaks, CA. Sure glad my Son found Rocky Mountain Radar, & I found Debbie & Raul. He helps me take it off Spanish speaking. Why 7 radar units, my Boss & his 3 boys had to have one for each vehicle, when they saw what protection it offered.

This product really works well in both city and highway. I was shocked on its durability. My car was underwater over the roof in the Houston flood. Everything in the car was totally destroyed, including all of my electronics except for one. When the towing company brought my car of the water three days later, only my Rocky Mountain Radar worked. I am still using my Rocky Mountain Radar today in my new car. Now, this is durability and dependability. Other devices will not work because they overheat in the hot Texas sun, Rocky Mountain works in the hot, in the cold, and in humid conditions, and even after being submersed in water. It’s the most reliable and dependable electronic product that I have ever seen.

I have purchased 3 units directly from you, another old one from different seller! I have purchased and use several of your units including the recent JUDGE, and it seems to work very well! I am also using one of your older models that was my 1st that does not pickup LASER! it has no voice, but works very well on the regular radar! My 2nd model I purchased worked fine for a very short period of time due to losing its voice alerts even though while picking up the alerts, just not making any noise!! Its life span has really upset me!!
SUGGESTION!! A unit most weight is on the back of an unit when it is attached to the windshield, where you only have one suction cup to attached it to the windshield and then you have two suction cups that holding the lesser weight of the units front to the windshield!! Please reverse them so as to have the two suction cups holding the back of a units weight to the windshield so as not to come undone so often!!!

No false warnings, amazing long distance detection of all bands and laser, and really impressive scrambling. It is so cool when the fixed speed detectors just go blank when I drive up on them. I don’t speed, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get a speeding ticket. My youngest got passed by a speeder and she got the $175 ticket + points! If she had a RMR detector, this would have never happened.

I don’t drive crazy but I drive fast in my Beemers and the Judge never lets me down. Easy to use and understand what you are approaching. I also love the case so I can take it when I travel. Easy to not be paying attention in unfamiliar territory and get nabbed. So for an inexpensive radar it as paid for itself many times over, especially in my wife’s car! 🙂 I’d recommend this to anyone especially at this price. There are many much more expensive that do less. So if you haven’t tried RMR yet give the Judge a try…from my experience you will love it!

I’m not sure how much RMR tested the Judge in warm or hot conditions (the one(s) I ordered were of the first 300 RMR produced) but living in Texas, I may have done some extreme heat conditions testing for them. I volunteer at our local race track (COTA) and during this past week my Judge has been subjected to 90-102 degree (outside) temperatures–I assume 120-140+ degrees inside the car. I touched it one time and could barely move it. Anyway, 5 days in these conditions and when I went to go home, the Judge fired right up and never missed a beat–or radar trap. CONGRATS RMR.

This disappointment is the reason for only four stars.
I received the email about the newer, improved Judge, but will wait a bit for them to fix this problem.
I wish there were a way we could download fixes into our units, just like we could download firmware upgrades. Please consider this.

The town where I live is a low revenue area so the cops just love to run with radar on. They also love to use laser. I can’t even begin to tell u how many times I have been saved by the judge already saving me hundreds of dollars. Over 300′ away I have never been caught speeding ever in almost 20yrs using rmr products. I bought the new passport a year ago went on a trip and had a ticket 5min from home. Went immediately back to rmr and never had one since and I am always driving for work. Absolutely the Best!

My dad and I have had one of these since December and from the start we have both loved it and hated it. The radar detector itself is great. However, the suction cup mount is terrible. It simply does not work.

I purchased this radar detector to let me know where police radar was in case I was speeding. Well, it has been giving false signals, and has only alerted me to 2 cops. I’ve passed several more without it going off. The other day I passed a Highway patrol who was on the side of the road watching radar. It did NOT alert me til I had PASSED the cop. I paid $399 for basically nothing. Please don’t waste your hard earned money like me.

This has been a great unit where I drive: I-10 and I-25 (El Paso to Las Cruces). In the past I got a speeding ticket for driving only 5 mph over! Also, there is a stretch of road called a safety corridor (whatever that means) and speeding fines are double! Anyways, now I know well in advance if police radar and laser is active and check myself accordingly. I have received no tickets since buying this Odin.
